CHANDIGARH: The crisis in the Akali Dal (Badal) has blown over with the withdrawal of resignation of by Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa last week from all posts including that of secretary general. Dhindsahad resigned from all party posts recently when his supporters protested against the allotment of tickets for the S. G.P.C. general house election at a meeting at Sangrur, sparking a crisis in the party. He is a close confidant of the party president Parkash Singh Badal. Dhindsa announced the withdrawal of his resignation at a meeting of party workers and his supporters on an appeal made by Badal at Sangrur. Badal, who presided over the meeting, assured the party workers and Dhindsa supporters of full jus tice. Dhindsa expressed full faith in the leadership of Badal. Badal reciprocated the gesture saying Dhindsa was the backbone of the party. Kuldip Singh Wadala, who had also resigned from the post of senior vice president earlier, is yet to withdraw his resignation as he had resigned on entirely different issues.
