BOMBAY: Relief workers searching through the debris of a building that collapsed in India’s commercial capital found one more body on Thursday taking the death toll to 18, fire brigade officials said. “We found one body today,” a fire brigade spokesman said, The number of those injured when the three story building suddenly collapsed in Bombay on Tuesday remained at to, he added.
Civic authorities, who have almost finished clearing the rubble, said they expected to stop the search later on Thursday. “It is not likely that there are any more bodies left,” a fireman at the site said. Authorities had initially feared more than 25 people were trapped amid confusion over the total number of people in the building, which housed both offices and homes.
