NEW DELHI: Ina significant development, the Akali Dal (Mann group) and the Bahujan Samaj Party have reached an understanding to cooperate with each other at the national level. During the last general elections, the two Parties had contested as allies in Punjab, Simranjit Singh Mann, president of the Akali Dal (Mann) and Kanshi Ram, the chief of the BSP, had a two hour meeting on Sept.13. Mann has asked the party workers to protect the minorities and “to use their swords also for such a protection.” Mann and Kanshi Ram have jointly appealed to the people to protect the minorities, particularly the Muslim brethren, not a single life of the minority community should be allowed to be lost at the hands of anyone.
