DAMASCUS, SYRIA: Syna’s chief rabbi said Sunday that “administrative problems” have delayed exit permits for Jews seeking to leave the country, but he denied that a ban on travel for Jews has been re imposed.

Rabbi Ibrahim Hamm, speaking to reporters at his home in Damascus, gave no indication as to how long it would be before Jews would be issued exit permits. No exit visas have been issued to Symran Jews since mid-October, the World Jewish Congress said in Washington recently.
