FEROZEPUR: The Union Civil Supplies Minister, Buta Singh, has claimed that the cut motions tabled in Parliament by P.R Kumarmangalam, the dissident MP, posed no threat whatsoever to Narasimha Rao government because no MP was in a mood to face midterm general elections including the former: Human. Resources Development Minister, Arjun Singh and N.DTiwari, who were using the Kumarmangalam to activate the national political scene. Last week Buta Singh, while reiterating his stand, said, all Scheduled Caste and Backward Class MPs, in addition to a majority of them from the Opposition parties, were united to ‘oppose the said cut motion proposal.

When asked to comment why the committed Congress MPs would not vote for cut motion involving nine issues, Buta Singh said being a former minister for parliamentary affairs him “Self, he knew the fate of such cut motions very well He was confident that the Rao government would complete its term.
