CHANDIGARH India: Central Reserve Police Force has decided to establish its headquarters in the Mand area falling between Sutlej and Beas rivers. C.R.P.F. Inspector General of Police Mr. KS. Gill disclosed that this decision had been taken in view of the fact that freedom fighters were operating from that area. He said paramilitary forces would remain deployed day and night in the border areas of Amritsar Ferozepur and Gurdaspur districts.
C.R.P.F. feels that it would become difficult for the freedom fighters to operate from there after the establishment of its headquarters in the Mand area The I.G. also disclosed that C:R.P.F. has created permanent posts in this area which stretches to nearly 75 kilometers.
