ISLAMABAD: The supreme court of Azad Kashmir on Tuesday rejected a writ petition by the Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan seeking stay of proceedings in the high court relating to his disqualification to contest election from a refugee’s seat in the forthcoming elections.

The petition against Sikandar Hayat Khan was filed in the high court by three persons who contended that under the 1974 constitution he could not contest from the seats reserved for Kashmiri refugees.
