NEW DELHI: The Congress on Nov.13 rejected the demand for setting up a commission of inquiry into the alleged acts of omission and commission attained by M.D Bangarappa who resigned as Karnataka Chief Minister.

There was nothing in the report of the party’s central observers to the State that warranted setting up a commission of inquiry Congress spokesman Chandulal Chandrakar said.

Chandrakar also rejected the demand for making public the report of the observers The report was meant for Congress President P.V Narasimha Rao and was not a public document.

“The party President took the proper action on the basis of the report and the matter ends there” The party Chandrakar said was not considering any action against Bangarappa. “The biggest punishment for a politician is his dismissal” he said without elaborating.
