SRINAGAR, India: Ameeting of the Congress (I) workers called by the former Union Minister, Mr. Mohammad Shafi Qureshi, member AIC (I) here on Saturday called the revocation of the Rajiv Farooq accord if it did not serve the people of the State.

The ultimatum came in a resolution passed at a meeting, held in a local hotel, which Mr. Qureshi claimed 325 prominent workers of the party attended.

They discussed the present political and economic situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

In its political resolution, the meeting suggested that in the absence of an elected executive committee for the state, the Congress (I) President should send a five member team of reliable persons to ascertain the views of Congress (Drank and file about the prevailing situation in the state.

It opposed the practice of sending a party high up to Srinagar ‘who consults a few local leaders and returns to Dehli.
