KOHIMA: A 14-member United Legislature Front Ministry headed by K.L Chisi was sworn in here Tuesday night after S.C. Jamir’s Congress I Govt was reduced to a minority in Nagaland,

The dismissal of the 16 month old Jamir ministry came after it lost majority following desertion by 12 of its 36 legislators in the 60 member house having 24 opposition members.

All the 12 legislators who quit the Congress I were accommodated in the new two tier ministry that has nine cabinet and five ministers of state.

The 12 legislators had formed the Congress regional party and joined hands with the Nagaland People’s Council (NPC) of Chisi to form the United Legislature Front.

Chisi said he would expand his ministry before the 30 day deadline set by the governor to prove his majority in the floor of the assembly.
