NEW DELHI, India: The wind of political change can be gauged from this fact that the political bureaus of C.P.I. and C.P.M. have decided to support Mr. Vishwanath Partap Singh, the ex-Finance Minister of India in his campaign against the corruption of Rajiv Gandhi’s government.
The political observers feel that it is probably the first occasion that the Communist leadership of India has accepted the reality of the political situation. Still some quarters are skeptical of their actual operations. In support of their argument they refer to their past way of thinking and operations under the pressure and interests of US.S.R. These circles, still insist that these comrades will again shift or drift in their operation under the pressure of U.S.S.R. as weak India is in their best interests.
