Col Moammar Gaddafi continues to make headlines. Libya has sought readmission to the Inter Parliamentary Union, an organization which promotes legislatures round the world. Last week the Colonel celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Libyan revolution by promising to rid the world of all Parliaments. At the recent nonaligned conference in Belgrade his arrival was preceded by six camels, which were brought there because Gaddafi takes their milk daily as an elixir (as it is said). He entered the conference hall in flowing robes (“to save the nonaligned movement”, as he put it).
