NEW DELHI (PTI): The Central Bureau of Investigation initiated steps to attach the properties of underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim worth several billion rupees in Bombay.

A CBI spokesman said recently that the investigative agency had sought attachment of six properties located in Bombay worth billions of rupees allegedly owned in Benami by Mohammed Dosa a prime suspect in Bombay blast case. The properties of Dawood Ibrahim against whom the CBI had issued an alert notice during May include some valuable vacant plot in prime areas of Bombay buildings in Pakmodia street and Yakum street marble stone workshop at Bapti road a shop at Maulana Shaukat Ali road hotels and guest houses in Nagpada Pakmodia street Yakum street Ibrahim Rehamtullah road and Parkhana street in Bombay he said.

Enquiries were in progress to determine the links of Benami holders with Dawood Ibrahim he said and added that these properties were worth several billion rupees.

The spokesman said that the CBI had also sought attachment of another six properties of the prime suspect in Bombay bomb blast case Mohammed Dosa which were owned in Benaj by him. Earlier 20 properties belonged Mohammed Dosa in Bombay were attached by the CBI.
