NEW DELHI (PTI): The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested former planning commission member, V.Krishnamurthy and his son from their residence here for their alleged involvement with Harshad Mehta in the multi-crore securities scam,
A CBI spokesman here said the two accused would be produced before a duty magistrate later and the investigation agency would seek their police remand,
He said “incriminating documents” were seized in CBI raids which were continuing since Aug.8 on the premises of KJ. Investments and associated concerns, owned by _ the Krishnamurthy family, in Delhi, Madras, Bombay and Bangalore.
The spokesman said the documents seized from the residential and office premises of Krishnamurthy and his sons were being scrutinized by the CBI,
The CBI had Friday registered a case of corruption against Krishnamurthy, Harshad Mehta and KJ. Investments private limited in connection with the scam.
CBI sources said more persons were likely to be arrested soon in connection with these cases.
