CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government has ordered intensive round the clock patrolling by the Police, C.R.P.F and BS.F in the terrorist affected areas of Amritsar and Gurdaspur. It has been done to boost the morale of the people, in the wake of the report of the recent spate of killing that has resulted in the migration of Hindu families to Haryana, Besides the deployment of security forces, lager protection force was being organized to counter violence these two Districts. The district administration and the state have been alerted to detect incidents of migration and to win them back by persuasion. Mr. Surjit S, Barnala who presided over a High level meeting of the Home department attended by the director general of police said that Batala in Gurdaspur district has been divided into two sectors, under the four companies of C.R.P.F. and round the clock patrolling has been ordered. The sector comprised Batala town and Batala Sadar stations. The DLG. Jullundur Range, said four hundred companies of C.R.PF. Have been deployed in Amritsar and Gurdaspur border areas to check the freedom fighters activities. Under the village protection force scheme, five or more ex-service men will be given arms in every village of the sensitive areas the block administration has been asked to organize this force Sunit Singh Barnala said that a team consisting of Minister of State, Tara Singh Lyallpuri Mr. S.L.L Kapoor Financial Commission and D.C. Amritsar Ramesh Chander Singh and some respectable Traders of Tarn Taran, have gone to Karnal to contact migrated families there, five families which have migrated from Fatehpur of Tam Taren subdivision have agreed to return to their homes. The Punjab Government has decided to provide arms licenses to the Hindu families for self-protection. The Government has also ordered a survey to know the facts of number of migrate from Punjab to Haryana and from other states to Punjab.
