GUAHATI: In stepped-up violence, Bodo militants killed the Assistant Station Master of Sesapani railway station, shot at and injured an engine driver and kidnapped four persons in Assam’s Kokrajhar district last night, according to official reports reaching here today.

The militants ransacked Sesapani railway station, killing Mr. Tarini Kanta Kalita, Assistant Station Master, kidnapped three railway employees and abducted another from Goabari railway station in the district.

Bodo militants also attacked the forest range office, 12 km from Kokrajhar town, with grenades, the reports said. The Assam Forest Protection Force posted there fired 67 rounds in which one extremists was injured.
