JALANDHAR (PTI): India’s main Hindu revivalist party, the Bharatiya Janata Party Jan.16, reiterated its demand that premier Rao should seek a fresh mandate on the Ayodhya issue. If the Government failed to seek the fresh mandate, the party will mobilize the masses to force the government to hold election, the BJP vice-president, Krishan Lal Sharma, said here. “All the steps taken by the Center to settle the issue have only spoilt the situation further,” he said, Referring to the acquisition ordinance, he said “what will the supreme court decide, when the disputed structure is not there.”

Rao, should have sought a political solution to the issue. “Such a sentimental and delicate issue cannot be tackled at judicial level,” he said. The BJP will also contest all the 68 seats in the next assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh state, Along with the Ayodhya issue the BJP would make is policies and performance and “unjustified” dismissal of the government in the wake of the Ayodhya incident as its election issue.
