NEW DELHI (PTI): A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member in the joint parliamentary committee probing the securities scam has demanded that all finance ministers since the establishment of the National Housing Bank in August 1987 should be asked to appear before the committee.

In a letter to the JPC chairman Ram Niwas Mirdha BJPs Ram Naik said N.D. Tiwari S.B.Chavan Prof. Madhu Dandavate Yashawant Sinha and Dr.Manmohan Singh be called as witnesses to find out the reasons for failure to constitute the board of directors and appoint chairman of the NHB allegedly involved.

Naik wanted that all the union ministers whose names have been taken by witnesses or questions asked to witnesses by JPC members taking their names be called before the committee so that they could clarify their position so as to help the committee to arrive at proper conclusions.
