AMRITSAR: Thousands of Indian Youth Congress (IYCI) activists, led by its president Mr, Maninderjit Singh Bitta recently held a demonstration at Wagha in the Indo Pak border to lodge a protest against Pakistan’s “active role in aiding and biting militant activities in India.” Youth Congress activists who had assembled at the Attari Wagha border, near hero, since morning, holding black flags, shouted anti Pakistan slogans and burnt effigies of Pakistan Premier Ms., Benazir Bhutto. Addressing the gathering Mr, Bilta asked the youth in the country to stand united to thwart the evil designs of Pakistan and its Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) and give a befitting reply to its nefarious activities aimed at disintegrating India.

“Youth in India will not tolerate the ulterior motives perpetrated by Pakistan and Benazir Bhutto Government will be held responsible for each drop of blood spilt in militant violence in the country,” he said.

Condemning the recent firing by Pakistan troops in Jammu and Kashmir border, Mr, Bitta said Pakistan, through these hostilities, was using to escalate tension al the border. He said though the IYCI had on several occasions, warned the Pakistan Government through protests and demonstrations to refrain from waging proxy war against India, it had fallen on deaf cars.

He alleged that a memorandum which was submitted last month to the Pakistan High Commission Stating that Indian you LN would not tolerate Pakistan interference in the country was sent back along with a “derogatory and inflammatory leuer” leveling unsubstantiated allegations against the Indian Government.

The IYC president said that he would further intensify his party’s protests at India borders “to expose the civil designs of Pakistan, backed by ISI in creating subversive act Vitis in our country.”
