BEIRUT, LEBANON: Billionaire Rafik Hariri was named Lebanese Prime Minister Oct.22 igniting hopes that his wealth drive and connections would lead Lebanon out of economic distress.
Hundreds of jubilant supporters chanted “Long live our savior!” and fireworks lit the sky in Beirut after news of the appointment of Hariri.
Many Lebanese believe that Hariris business savvy and experience in building a personal fortune can help him get things done in politics.
