NEW DELHI: Indian home minister S.B.Chavan introduced in the lower house of Parliament a bill seeking to ban any change in the status of places of religious worship as it existed on August 151947. This will not apply to Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site at Ayodhia. The provisions of the bill also exclude decisions by Courts tribunals or other authorities and those settled by parties until July 11, 1991.
The B.J.P group led by its leader L.K. Advani protested against the bill and walked out of the house in protest.
