CHANDIGARH (PTI): A militant of the Bhindranwale Tiger Force of Khalistan’ (BTKF) was killed in an encounter with security forces in Majitha police distirct while 11 persons were killed in other incidents of violence in Punjab on June 30.

According to a report from Amritsar, security forces acting on a pelt raided 3 farm house in village Dhariwal in Majitha district hiding. Dilsher Singh fired at the security forces while they were conducting searches and was later killed in exchange of fire.

The militant had recently raised his own group under the name of BTFK -Shera. Dilsher Singh was wanted in more than 250 incidents of killings in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. He was responsible for Brij Bhushan Mehra and also an attack on Sajjan Kumar, a member of parliament from Delhi,

In another encounter two militants and a central reserve police force (CRPF) constable were killed in Botalkidi area of Tam Taran police district. According to reports the encounter was continuing and the security forces had cordoned off the area and were conducting searches.
