CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister and Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Beant Singh has claimed that his party has made a clean sweep in the Panchayati Samiti polls by capturing 78 of the 85 chairmen’s seats, He said of the 85 seats the Congress has captured 78 followed by 3 Akali Dal Badal, 3 independent and one by the CPI.
In Amritsar district, the Congress bagged 6 chairmen’s seats In Ferozepur district, elections were held in 5 samit is and the Congress won all block samit is namely, Guru Har Sahai, Jalalabad, Mamdet Khuian Saryar and Makhu seats. Block Samit is of Narot Jaimal Singh, .Bamial, Dina Nagar Sn Hargobind Pur, Quaddain Kanuwan, Dera Baba Nanak and Fategarh Churian were also won by the Congress.
In Hoshiarpur district, Mukerian, Hajipur, Bhuga, Sarowa, Garhshankar were won by the Congress.
