ISSRU(LUDHIANA): The Punjab Chief Minister, Beant Singh, has announced that he would order an inquiry against the former Akali Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal, to probe his various malpractices, including purchase of huge property.
Addressing a huge conference at Issru village to pay homage to martyr Kamail Singh of the Goa Liberation Movement, he said Badal had purchased unlimited property in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh which was a matter of concern and added the source of this income must be exposed.
Beant Singh further said that the Akali Dal had always brought a bad name to the democratic norms by sending its members to the Parliament with criminal pasts who had lowered the status of Punjab and Sikh community in the eyes of the world. He cautioned the people to be vigilant against the nefarious designs of these communal and antinational politicians.
The Chief Minister alleged that the Akali leadership was hatching a tacit conspiracy to revive the bad days in Punjab by whipping up the sentiments of innocent people and instigating the antinational elements, He warned that their attempts would not be allowed to succeed.
He said that the Akali leaders including Gurcharan Singh Tohra, Parkash Singh Badal and Simranjit Singh Mann had launched a tirade against the Congress led government and were misleading the people. He said that these disgruntled politicians had once again started their old antinational moves which they had exploited for inducting terrorism in the state.
Beant Singh reiterated that the SGPC had been sending people in its jathas to Pakistan with criminal background. Such people had been conniving with ‘militants hiding in Pakistan to disturb hard won peace in the state. He declared that in future the jathas could be sent after proper scrutiny of its members.
