CHANDIGARH: Mr. Sujit Singh Barnala who is Akali Dal President has appointed seven office bearers and fourteen advisors of the party besides nominating 23 ‘members of its working committee, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal, format Chief Minister, Mr. GS. Tohra, and three of the five Cabinet Ministers Mr. Balwant Singh; ‘Sukhjinder Singh, and Mr. Amarinder Singh have been made members of the working committee. The remaining two Cabinet Ministers, Mr. Basant Singh Khalsa and Major Singh Oboke who have ‘been ignored are close associates of Mr. Tohra, Mr. Surjan Singh Thakedar who was convener of Akali Dal and was all along in jail with the senior leaders has been ‘appointed senior Vice President of the party, Mr, Amar Singh, Jathedar, Patiala District, Akali Jatha Harbans Singh Ghuman former MLA and father of the assassinated youth Akali Dal leader Jatinder Singh Ghuman, has been appointed Vice President. The four general secretaries appointed by Mr. ‘Surjit Singh Barnala are Mr. Mohinder Singh Sandhu, Mr. Manjit Singh Khaira, Mr. Manjit Singh Calcutta, Mr, Parkash Singh Gardiwala, Mr, Khaira has been retained as general secretary. The other general secretary Mr. Balwant Singh Ramoowalia now leader of Akali Dal-Parliamentary Party, as been dropped.

‘The list of office bearers, members of the working committee and advisors indicates that the highest policy makers of the party tilt overwhelmingly in Mr, Barnala’s favour. The Chief Minister had summoned a joint meeting of the ‘Akali Dal Legislature Party and the working committee on Sunday. Other members of the working committee are Mr. Ravi Inder Singh, Mr. Tota Singh, Mr. Jaswant Singh, MLA, Mr. Joginder ‘Singh Sawhney, Mr. Rajinder Singh Dhariwal, Mr. Kabul Singh, Mr, Hari Singh Zira, Mr. Such a ‘Singh Chottepur, Mr. Dhanna Singh Gulshan, Dr. Rajinder Kaur, Mr. Saranjit Singh; Mr. Bharpur Singh Dhanola, Mr. Nazar Singh, Mr, Sashpal Singh, Mr. Talibs Singh Sandhu, Mr. Prem Singh Chandu mujra, Mr. Teja Singh Dardi, and Balwant Singh Jammu and Kashmir. The names of the advisors are Mr. Charan Das Gihai, Mr. M.C.
