CHANDIGARH : The Barnala Ministry was expanded with the appointment of one Cabinet
Minister, eighteen Ministers of State and two Deputy Ministers. Two Ministers of state were promoted to Cabinet rank. Mr. PremSingh ‘Chandumajra, president of the youth Wing was sworn in as Cabinet Minister, Mr. Harbajan Singh Sanhu and Nath Singh Dalam were promoted to the Cabinet rank. Mi Prem Gupta, M.L.A. from Ra pura and follower of Captain ‘Amarinder Singh was appointed Minister of State After he expressed full confidence in the leadership of Mr. Sugjit S. Barnala, Following the expansion, twenties members ministry has seven Cabinet rank ministers including the Chief Minister. twenty Ministers of State, and two deputy Ministers. Other Ministers of State appointed are:
Mr. Tara S. Lyallpuri: Mr. Sukhdey S. DI y Singh Khila; Hardeep-Inder Singh: Malkiat Singh Sidhu: Hari Singh; Zira: Mohinder Singh Sainanyvale: Upkar Singh Randhawa: Rajinder
Singh Dhaliwal; Jagdev Singh Tajpuri; Surjit Singh Minhas; Captain Kamaljit Singh; Dalip Singh Pandhi; Prem Gupta, Baldev Singh Mann, Surinder Pal Singh Thamanwal; Mr. Nusrat Ali Khan, Nimal Singh Kahion, deputy Speaker. Mr. Kundan Singh Patang and Sawarn Singh have been appointed deputy Ministers. The Barnala government before the split lud- Ministers of State, Mr. Amar— Inder Singh, Mr. Sukhjundar Singh and Mr. Sucha Singh Chhotepur resigned following the police action in the Golden Temple. After the swearing in ceremony the Chief Minister said that there was still scope for the expansion of the ministry. He also announced appointed of two were sworn in the next day.
