CHANDIGARH India: New Delhi Metropolitan Magistrate Mr. B.K. Malhotra extended the judicial remand of former Punjab Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal and former S.G.P.C Chief S. Gurcharan Singh Tohra up to September 10. Both the leaders were arrested at the Haryana Delhi border on August 9. They were produced in the court on August 30 under tight security arrangements. They were supplied with the copies of the charge sheet in Gurumukhi letters. These leaders had refused to accept orders prohibiting their entry into Delhi. They were arrested. The duty magistrate had accepted their bail but they refused to be released on bail
Police Commissioner Delhi did not allow Tohras supporters to enter the court on August 30. A large crowd therefore kept waiting outside the court. The family members of both leaders were however allowed to meet them.
