CHANDIGARH,, India: Sixteen alleged intruders ‘who crossed over from Pakistan to India were Killed by BSF. In Rajasthan and Punjab border areas according to an official announcement made in New Delhi. BS.F, spokesman said that thirteen were gunned down in Khem Karn sector of Amritsar district. ‘They were believed to be Pakistani nationals, 2 were killed in Anupgach district, one in Sri Ganga Nagar in Rajasthan, the spokesman said a group of 15 men ‘entered India near Maiwali village of Khem Karn area on October 26th. Some 200 meters inside Indian Territory one of them fired five shots of .12 bore gun and the BS.F. units in the area immediately returned the fire. Two of the misintruders were seen falling down and few of them fled to Pakistan when the BS.F. Personnel posted near returned the fire according to the spokesman. A search of the area led to the recovery of nine bodies and all the Victims were believed to be Pakistani, In a encounter in Khem Kam area BS.F. units opened fire at six intruders resulting in the death of four of them. Two of them escaped to Pakistan taking the advantage of darkness.

Similarly two intruders escaped afier two others were killed by BS.F. men in Anupgarh. Another killing in Sri Ganga Nagar took place in the small hours of Friday. BS.F. party and internal patrol in Malaut area in Ferozpur district arrested a policeman who began firing from this 303 rifle under the influence of liquor, the spokesman added. The Constable was identified as Harjiwan Singh who was handed over to the local police.
