CHANDIGARH,(PTI): Fourteen militants, including Babbar Khalsa and a member of the Sikh Students Federation (Bittu faction), were among 21 persons killed in the northern Indian state of Punjab on June 25.

Security along the Rajasthan federal canal near Doda village in Faridkot district was tightened following fresh threat by militants. The canal was breached by militants on June 8.

One Hardayal Singh was shot dead in Khurana village in Sangrur district.

Militants Gurbaljit Singh, a member of the AISSF (Bittu group), was killed in an encounter with security forces near Sathiala village while another identified as Jaswinder Singh alias Jassa, a militant of the Khalistan Commando Force (Panjwar group) was killed in Khatra Kalan village in Majitha police district.

An unidentified militant was killed in another encounter with police Naka party of Gurdaspur near Tung village while two other unidentified militants were killed near Nanakpur village in Faridkot district,
