SYDNEY, REUTER — Australian cricket umpires were blasted on Monday by players and commentators, particularly over the number of wides called in the current one day World Series Cup (WSC) matches.
“(The umpires are) not inconsistent, just consistently poor,” Pakistan Captain Imran Khan told journalists.
The controversy centers on the number of wides called by umpires in the weekend one day matches, On Saturday West Indies were penalized 37 times while conceding a record 59 extras in their match against Pakistan.
