CHANDIGARH: The five member Panthic Committee (Dr Sohan Singh) and four militant organisations have warned against any move to revive the Punjab Assembly.

The committee in a statement said that the members of the Punjab Assembly, the judges concerned and the lawyers would be punished according to the Sikh tradition if the Assembly was revived.

The militants also warned Capt Amarinder Singh whose name had been mentioned in the media as a possible candidate of Chief MinisterShip and said that he would not be forgiven by the Panth for his betrayal.

The militants noted that Capt Amarinder Singh continued to be a traitor like his ancestors.

‘The militants said that the judiciary was drifting away under political pressure and that the judgement to be delivered by the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court and his associate judges would be carefully scrutinised.

The militants also took exception to the manner in which Damdami Taksal was being led, the statement described the militant’s observations as a policy statement on the current matters.

At the moment Delhi is desperately trying to revive the Punjab Assembly on the basis of a case lodged in the high court soon after its 1987 dissolution.
