KATHMANDU, Reuter:

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) will host an Asian Soccer Cup Competition starting next month at the National Stadium where 70 people died in a stampede earlier this year.

Asian Football Confederation General Secretary Peter Vellalan said the group c matches would be held from May 25 to June 1. Iran, North Korea, Syria, Hong Kong and Nepal will take part.

The matches will be played at Nepal’s 27,000seat National stadium in Kathmandu where 70 people died when a near capacity crowd panicked and stampeded during a sudden hailstorm on March 12,

The Cup matches will be the first al the stadium since the tragedy. Vellalan told reporters he has advised the ANFA to limit spectators to 20,000.
