We are activating international human rights organizations and the United Nations network to appeal to the President of India to uphold the independence of the judiciary in India.

We request all Sikh organizations and individuals to participate in this campaign. Please approach your local human rights groups, politicians, churches and other communities to support this campaign by writing directly to the President of India or by sending letters care of our address.

Brief History

On January 22, 1986, the Delhi Sessions Court passed an order to hang Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh. Subsequent appeals upheld this decision. However, according to an earlier ruling of the Supreme Court, upheld by a review bench, “If death penalty is not carried out within two years of its first pronouncement, then it is automatically changed into life imprisonment.” This has become law in India and hundreds of people are serving life terms under this ruling. The Indian government has started to apply pressure on the Constitution Bench, consisting of five judges, to change this ruling in order to execute Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh.

We need your support. We need volunteers. We need sponsors.
