NEW DELHI: The National SC/ ST Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC) was established here in 1989 for the economic development of SC/STS in the country. Last year after senior SCIST officers joined it NSFDC achieved a great success. It sanctioned 100 projects last year alone valued at Rs.180 crores with NSFDCs aid of Rs.100 crores. This was possible only because of these committed SC/ST senior officers. There was a senior Managing Director from ST and the board of directors were sympathetic the cause of SC/ST.
However things took a sudden and dramatic negative turn after Vohra IAS joined the Ministry as Secretary Welfare; B.R. Basu IAS joined the Corporation as CMD. Today the work in the Corporation has come to a standstill. T.SKalanjali Dy Manager (ST Officer) Southern Zone Office Bangalore was terminated without notice. Shatrugan Lal Dy. Manager (SC) Central Lucknow was threatened. Pazare Dy. Manager (SC) Bombay was transferred to Bangalore. Manohar Prasad a Serior General Manager (SC) and a former Private Secretary to Ram Vilas Paswan as Welfare Minister is being relieved before completing two more years of service. David Molly Manager Training (ST) has been ill-treated by the CMD.
If the present anti-Dalit CMD is allowed to continue the Corporation would cease to be a SC/ST Corporation and would not be of help to SC/ST in any way.
