CAPTE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA: An African National Congress official has been suspended from the group’s regional leadership for making an anti-Semitic remark, the organization said Monday.
Dawood Khan, a member of the ANC’s regional executive committee, shouted, “Hitler should have burned all the Jews!” at a Muslim protest against Israel on Friday.
Khan told the Cape Times newspaper he spoke “in the heat of the moment” and called his comment “silly.”
