On International Channel “5,” on July 20,1993 on the Indian Program in America, a TV documentary “Chandini Chawk Delhi” was shown, During the documentary the name of the most important historical factor by which “Chandani Chawk” is Known (0 the Indian people and abroad has been deliberately omitted and concealed. It was in this Chawk that Guni Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, was beheaded in 1675 by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in open day light before the public because, while advocating the equality of human race, he had raised his voice against the massacre of Huidus by the Emperor on Emperor and opposed their conversion to Islam. Guru Gobind Singh, with his own pen, has stated about this peerless sacrifice as ‘While presenting the documentary about “Chandni Chawk”, “The Garden and a Tank” constructed by Emperor Jahangir, as well as “Red Fort and Jammah Masjad” built by Emperor Shahjahan the father of Aurangzeb were highlighted, Highlighted were also some business houses of diamond, gold, silver and cloth dealers as well as rickshaws and tongas but the mention of the greatest sacrifice (crucifixion of the great Sikh Gumi) and the monument of Sis-Ganj was ignored and concealed by the ignorant mentality of the anchorperson who did not wish to high light the Sikhs and their Guru as the great sons of the Soil and saviour of Humanity. What an act of thanklessness and recklessness! The Guru laid down his life for these people, Yet these people wish the Sikhs to be a part of the “mainstream” of the country while they remain disregardful of our Sentiments!

Let the wise persons judge it themselves,

Principal Gurnam Singh
