MEERUT: Janata Dal candidate Ajit Singh trounced his nearest Cong I candidate Mahesh Sharma by 2,44,867 votes to win the Bagh pat Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh.
He polled 4,00,200 votes against the Cong (I) candidate Mahesh Sharma who got 1,55,353 in a 12 cornered contest.
