AMRITSAR, Punjab, India: The All India Sikh Student Federation (Bhai Gurjeet Singh group) has reiterated its demand for Khalistan and said that as for their observation of Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Jasbir Singh’s statement, he seems to stand by this demand as there no longer remained any controversy about the final goal of the Sikhs.

Talking to the reporters at the news conference at one of the rooms in the Parikarma of the Golden Temple, the A.I.S.S.F. acting Vice-President Bhai Sher Singh and acting General Secretary Bhai Gurjeet Singh Kaka, stated that while they have full faith in the newly appointed chief of Akal Takht, they hoped that Bhai Jasbir Singh and other Sikh priests would take all the decisions in accordance with the tenets of the Sikh religion. Significantly, they also announced that in consequence of the joint meeting of the freedom fighters’ groups held in the Golden Temple Complex, it has been decided that all the charges of extortion of money. And allegations of torturing will be checked. They also appealed to all the freedom fighting groups not to kill women and children but only kill the police informers.

They claimed that the Khalistan slogans were not raised at the installation ceremony of Bhai Jasbir Singh as Jathedar of Akal Takht, observing this being a religious function. Referring to the statement by the former Chief Minister Surjit Singh Barnala and Balwant Singh who have been declared as traitors, they ruled out that they will never be inducted back into the Panth.
