Take away your missiles and F16 fighters, Give us peace right now. ‘The peace process is long overdue; one may wonder what holds us back! Are we waiting for some Messiah to stage a second coming to deliver us from the predicament we have ourselves created? The Messiah may not come for a couple of centuries or even a millennium; we can’t at ford waiting anymore.
We have already suffered too much, too long. Since the mess we are in was created by us, it is only. We who can resolve it and it are in our power to do the same.
It is my firm belief that instead of worshipping Ram, Rahim or Waheguru we have been worshipping an ancient deity, of Biblical times, called Moloch. When in those times an unscrupulous enemy appeared at the city gate and the city dwellers had spent all options to defend their hearths and homes, they (the city folks) would bum their first born to propitiate Moloch whom they believed would save them. We are doing the same even now. Since 1947 we have made offerings to Moloch of hundreds of thousands of our dear children violating the 2nd Commandment: “Thou shalt have no God before me.” We put Moloch before Allah ‘or Waheguru or Ram (who are the same under different names) and have thus gravely blasphemed.
This God Moloch is such that the more you offer your children to please him the more his hunger is whetted and the more he demands. And we are only too eager to fill the order! The Western Empires during the 19th and early 20th centuries also did’ the same. Look at the toll Moloch took during the Napoleonic wars, the first and Second World War In these three wars alone 60 million people were killed, many more were disrupted from their homes, what did they get in return? Untold misery, destruction and dislocation, at long last they realized their folly and have turned anew leaf. ‘The Europeans are crafting a new relationship that is the European Community assuring free flow of commerce trade and services. They are creating a common monetary system, a joint seat of government (the current headquarters is Brussells Belgium) and a common defense. The task is arduous but they are coping with it. Europe is being redesigned to be a single nation of various languages, ethnicity’s, histories, cultures and monetary systems, They have bucked old hatreds, and enmities and have opted for a course of unified action Indian Subcontinent can also be similar.
‘The Subcontinent is gifted by Providence with one of the richest, soils of the world. Look at Indo Gangetic plain sprawl from Peshawar and beyond 10° Dacca interacting with the won” direful weather, most suited to a variety of exotic crops. Look at the” Himalayas a wilderness of immense snowpack, thousands of miles in length and hundreds of miles broad. This immense whitey gold melts and cascades down the mountain side to form so many majestic rivers and water courses enriching the soil with life giving water.
We are equally blessed with highly cultured, educated, skilled manpower, most industrious and thrifty. The world is awash with many Hindus, Muslim and Sikh doctors from the Subcontinent together with countless engineers, technicians, teachers and scientists enriching whatever countries they happen to go to.
Our wonderful land is blessed with so many religions, a not insignificant gift, enriching our minds and spirits, and teaching us to live in harmony and to foster amity and neighborliness. In spite of all the unpleasant happening of the past, we have a profound love for one another. We yearn to hug our brothers across the borders.
A big segment of our population sleeps out on the sidewalks of the main towns of the Subcontinent vulnerable to the attacks of cobras, scorpions, inclement weather and what not. These times have created a host of loose unscrupulous guns, who kill right and left just for the sake of Killing, Our ‘worthy leaders while celebrating. Independence days, grandstanding as the marchers pass, save. Salutes and feeling smug and self-assured should also think of the starving millions whose only pastime is breeding. The foreign dignitaries are not impressed with such shows. They will be impressed only if we clear the mess created by us warring between ourselves paying no head to this State of the destitute. We want our leaders to Leaders and not to be led by saber-rattling, swashbuckling warlords on either side of the great chasm at Vagha and in Bengal.
The concept of sovereignty is also a time worn relic of old times.
‘The European nations have sovereignty but with qualifications. They have started thinking and acting in symbiosis, a state in which each acts for the benefit of the other, Let us also act on symbiotic lines and come to the rescue of each other in times of need.
A word to the brothers and sisters Of the Subcontinent: Dear ones Say, “No” to all sorts of ‘weapons of mass destruction and “Yes” to Love, peace and harmony among ourselves say “No” to Hatred and enmity and “Yes” to Friendship and accord. In this way we will am the gratitude of our progeny ‘whom we have so mindlessly en danced. Our honorable leaders are urged to sit to get her and frame a comprehensive formula, even a better one than the European Community. They together with the gifted advisers have the ability to achieve this goal.
I also entreats the Parliamentarians, members of opposition of both countries together with editors, writers and thinkers to subscribe to the above solution.
