CHANDIGARH :Labh Singh a boxing coach working with the Sports Authority of India (SAD who has been forced to go underground fears that he may be made a victim of a false police encounter as he has apparently incurred the wrath of Shamsher Singh Dullo Minister of State for Excise and taxation Labh Singh told this correspondent in a meeting at Chandigarh last week that the police was after his life as his niece Jaswinder Kaur of Kauri village near Khanna had filed three want petitions in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against fraudulent recruitment of excise and taxation officials When the Supreme Court quashed similar appointments in a similar fashion by the Haryana government Dullo unilaterally sacked all the appointees apparently to preempt the demand of his resignation
But the police have a different Story to tell. According to the SSP Khanna Raj Kishan Bedi Malkit Singh of Ganda village had alleged in an affidavit that Labh Singh taken some money from him assuring that his plot in the illegal possession of certain persons would be got vacated with the help of a relative who was a police officer.
Bedi further said that Labh Singh had returned a sum of Rs 4500 to Malkiat Singh in the presence of prominent persons of the village. But he had not returned the remaining amount on the basis of which a case had been registered. Yet another case has been registered according to which Paramjit Singh allegedly paid Rs 30,000 to Labh Singh through Mohinder Singh for getting him absolved from the charge of harboring militants.
He denied that he was member of any political party as claimed by the minister. He said he would expose the Benami transactions of the minister in the near future.
