SRINAGAR: There has been a significant change in the mood of the people in Jammu and Kashmir raising hopes of holding elections within the next three months according to Governor Gen (Retd) Krishan Rao achieved in ending the alienation of the people while simultaneously keeping up the pressure to break the backbone of militants Gen Rao said in an interview. An atmosphere has been created for holding elections within the next three months he said. The Governor said that everyone who eschewed violence and abided by the constitution would be free to participate in the elections. Some politicians he said have already returned to the Valley after long exile while others have demanded apolitical package from the Center
Gen Krishna Rao said he was give momentum to re-start the political process in the strife-tom state.
The situation is now so good that most of these leaders can shift Straight away (o districts where they would be provided adequate Security and transportation to renew mass contact with the people General Rao said.
