GANGTOKNORTHEASTERN INDIA (PTI): Former Chief Minister of the Himalayan Sikkim state Nar Bahadur Bhandari last week began a 24-hourhungerstrike here in support of the demand for imposition of Presidents rule in the state.
Bhandari who was joined 07 some of former legislators of his faction of the Sikkim Sangram Parishad is also demanding dismissal of the minority government headed by Sanchaman Limboo
Bhandari said he was protesting the federal government’s decision to support the “puppet minority government of Limboo by violating all democratic norms and constitutional propriety.”
Prime Minister P.V.Narasimha Raos Congress (I) had declared its support to the ruling Sanchaman Limboo ministry and dismissed the possibility of imposition of presidents rule
