NEW DELHI: A Delhi Court on July, 10 extended the police remand of co accused in the Naina Sahni murdet case, Keshav Kumar, for two days to enable the investigating authorities to probe the sensational killing. Metropolitan magistrate Dharamray Singh, before whom Keshay Kumar was produced under strict security remanded him to police custody till July 12 after the public prosecutor said the co accused, who had destroyed evidence, could help in the arrest of prime suspect Sushil Sharma; Dressed in a dark red shirt and brown trousers, Keshav Kumar fainted in the courtroom at the first floor of Patiala House criminal courts complex during the hearing.
His lawyers said his mother died of breast cancer on Monday morning and urged the court to allow him to attend her funeral. The magistrate allowed an application seeking permission to Keshav Kumar to attend the funeral and asked the investigation officer to take him to the site in the evening.
Public prosecutor Raman Kumar said the autopsy report of Naina Sahni had confirmed that her hands and legs ‘were chopped off by a sharp-edged weapon and the police needed Keshiav Kumar to recover it.
