JAMMU: The Union Government would soon take a decision on the proposal by the Israeli government to provide expertise to seal the sensitive Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir vulnerable to infiltration and exfiltration to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK)
According to defence sources the Israeli government has given a proposal to India to share expertise and technical know-how to seal more than 500 kilometers of the (LoC)
The proposal which has been studied in detail by defence experts is lying with the Union Home Ministry for a final decision by the union cabinet. A decision was expected on the mutter after the return of Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao from his visit to the United States
According to the proposal Israeli defence experts would provide technical know-how to install sophisticated electronic gadgetry to check infiltration. It has been proposed to have electronic wiring with alarm and beeper system which could identify any movement in the area Such & system has to be operational in some sensitive infiltration and exfiltration routes in high mountain passes in patches all along the LoC in Kashmir
With the installation of suck a sys+ tem any movement in the area would be detected by the electronic alarm systems. The system has the facility Jo distinguishes between human movement and animal movement.
