PATIALA: The president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Gurcharan Singh Tohra said that senior Akali Dal leader Parkash Singh Badal had fallen into a trap of the

Anti-Sikh political  parties and the Central Government by refusing to accept the intervention of the Akal Takht for forging unity among the various Akali  Dals.

By not accepting the Akal Takht as a supreme religious and temporal power of the Sikhs for resolving the Akali factionalism Badal had deviated from the basic doctrine of the Sikhs based on the concept of the miri and pin Tohra said. Tohra said that the Akal Takht being the temporal and spiritual authority combined these two tenets of the Sikh religion.

Badal should stop using Sikh shrines and other such platforms for promoting the political activities of his party Tohra added.
