WASHINGTON: A youthful symposium was held at Guru Gobind Singh Foundation in Washington D.C. under the auspices of Sri Hem hunt Foundation Of New York 22 Sikh youth spoke at the symposium. The youngest group ages 7-10 reviewed the book High Roads To Sikh History. There were 10 participants in the age group. Rupinder Pal Singh stood first followed by Amol Deep Singh who placed second and Spoke in Punjabi. Tarunum Kaur planed thin. Bhai Vir Singh’s famous novel Sundni translated into English by Dr. Mansukhani formed the basis for the presentation by the second age group ages 11-14 It was Clear that the children were very inspired by Sundri. One of the Speakers descended how Sundnihad become her role model. Many in the audience were pleased to have that the Sikh heritage was being appreciated by the youth.
In the 15-18 age group there wore Iwo exception speakers who tied for first place they were Ajit Singh Sodhi and Harpreet Kaur Matta. These two speakers marked the end of the competition. The three judges for the competition were Mrs Satinder Sudhi Amrit Kaur Sulni and Gobind Singh. The latter two judges were both teenagers in high school. The key note address was given by Gobind Singh. His address was received warmly by the youth and adults.
