CHAMBA: The migrants of Doda district camping at Sanwal and Makkan villages of Chamba district have agreed to return to their native villages on an appeal from Union Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Gulam Nabi Azad.
Azad said that about 800 people of 110 families of Gandoh tehsil of Doda district will return to their villages in Doda in a weeks’ time. The minister assured the migrants that adequate security will be provided to them. He assured the migrants that para military forces have already been deployed in Doda district and more forces are being deployed in Seri Gwalgodh Tipri and Rahindi villages.
The minister visited the migrants along with Vinod Sharma Rajya Sabha member (Punjab) Bhim Singh President All India Panther Party Vidya Dhar Minister of State for Welfare (HP) and Harsh Mahajan and Ashy Kumari both MLAs from Himachal Pradesh.
