HAZARIBAGH:A Harijan youth Mahavir Ravidas was allegedly lynched and a Kurmi girl Malati was stripped and beaten up at Hendigara village under the Mandi police station about 30 km from i here by a mob of around 500 Kumis.
The couple had reportedly married in another village. According to the villagers the upper caste Kurmis who were greater in number than the Harijans in the village objected to the relationship between Malati and Mahavir because the latter belonged to the lower caste. However villagers confided that Puram Mahato Malatis father never objected to their affairs
