SANGRUR: A special squad of the Sangrur police has found a group of officials of Punjabi University, be “sides Rakesh Kumar Garg, lecturer, “Arya College, Dhuri, Jamail Singh, “principal, Guru Nanak Academy, Dhuri and Hamek Singh, teacher, *Sangrur, responsible for leakage of “question papers of BA1 in Dhuri and Other parts of the district.

 They were allegedly selling the question papers al rates varying between Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500 per question ‘Paper and were allegedly hand in glove with S.S. Pahal, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and Paramjit Singh Khaira, Controller, Punjabi University, Patiala.

Gurmail Singh, teacher, Sangrur, Jarnail Singh and OSD, Punjabi University have been taken into custody, whereas Rakesh Kumar Garg, is absconding.

According to sources, Controller, Punjabi University, who is allegedly “the kingpin in the racket has been let off after preliminary investigations. A case under Section 406 (Criminal ‘breach of trust), Section 409 (Criminal) breach of trust by a public servant), Section420 (cheating) and 120’B (Criminal Conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused in the Dhuri police station. It is learnt that the relatives and supporters of the accused tare going from pillar to post to hush up the matter.
