Addressing election rallies in support of his ruling United national Party for the southern provincial council polls Wijetunga was quoted by the official “Dalit News” as having sod that if the LTTE did kill him.
If I was sure he would be born in Sri Lanka again to fulfill his mission to annihilate them. “If Lam killed there will be another leader to take my place. The LTTE assassinated former pre dent Rana Singh Premadasa Prime Minister Ranjan Wijeraine. I may be their next target.” the 72 year old president said.
He also said that the recent concluded polls in Eastern Lanka showed that the LTTE was on its last legs. He said “Our next move would be holding a referendurn to de-link the cast from the north. Next we will confine the LTTE to a corner in the north to perform an operation to end terrorism for good.”
